Ruby, The Original Foster
Ruby was the dog that started it all! She was a 6 month old red coated Pit bull with a playful spirit and adorable face. She spent 4 days with us before being adopted by a couple looking for a friend for their pup.
Camille
Camille was a 7-8 month old Pit Bull mix with a beautiful brindle colored coat and SO soft. She played hard, but cuddled harder. A huge cuddle bug she would normally wrap herself up in our laps or on top of our feet all while snorting away. We fostered her at the same time as Katie. They were both adopted 3 weeks after coming home with us.
Katie
We never knew or found out what happened to Miss Katie, but she came to us incredibly scared and shaken. I had to tip (gently of course!) her out of the crate once we got home to get her to come out. She didn't even cower; she just simply did not move. After a week of being with us there was a marked difference. She would run and play with Bowser and Camille. She would allow us to cuddle with her a bit and she started to go down our porch steps without help. Her and Camille both returned to the shelter for a week to be treated for severe worms, then came home with us again. By the time she was adopted, Katie was an entirely different dog. She would run to my husband when he got home from work, she would cuddle with our kids and even wagged her tail. Working with her was amazing.
Harley and Sadie
Oh I forgot how exhausting puppies can be - it was like having a newborn in the house again! Harley and Sadie were an emergency foster situation. They were puppies from a litter of 17 puppies total from two mothers that were seized by the local shelter after their owner had been cited numerous times for animal abuse. These two were so adorable! We fostered them for 2 weeks to get them weaned onto solid food before they were both returned to the shelter and adopted out the very next day! Sadie went to a friend co-worker of mine looking for her family's first dog and Harley, I was told, was adopted by a nice gentleman looking to surprise his wife.
